The prior renovations to this building were minimal and it had been poorly maintained over the years. The newer building lacked many of the characteristic elements found in older, historic structures. To incorporate the new urban market use, HA+D’s design completely gutted the existing interior improvements to expose the roof structure and the few remaining brick walls. Within this volume HA+D created unique spaces by varying floor and wall finishes and incorporating unique, suspended ceiling features.
